In a strategic move to enhance service efficiency and collaboration, our pediatric team has merged with the Perinatal Psychiatric Consultation Service.
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Sarah Guth, who will continue to provide perinatal consultations as part of our integrated team. We will have one, single phone number for both pediatric and perinatal consultation; this is the same VTCPAP phone number, 802-488-5342. To acknowledge this expanded scope of service, our new name is the Vermont Consultation & Psychiatry Access Program: Serving Pediatric and Perinatal Providers. Register Today!
We offer consultative services for Vermont Primary Care Providers with questions about diagnosis and treatment planning for children and adolescents ages 21 and under.
We are available to provide some FREE live virtual trainings to primary care practices on a variety of mental health related topics.
We are available to answer calls between 9:00am - 3:00pm daily for registered practices.
Vermont's children, youth, and perinatal people are experiencing a critical mental health crisis, often encountering significant barriers to accessing high-quality treatment. This systemic challenge creates costly healthcare inefficiencies, exacerbates patient symptoms, and contributes to mounting provider burnout.
The Vermont Consultation & Psychiatry Access Program (VTCPAP) offers an innovative solution. Our dedicated team of licensed clinical social workers and board-certified perinatal, and child and adolescent psychiatrists provides
immediate, free psychiatric consultation to medical providers, empowering them to deliver timely, targeted mental health interventions.
VTCPAP is the Vermont Chapter of the National Network of Child Psychiatry Access Programs (NNCPAP)
VTCAP has been such an amazing resource for myself and the families I serve. Staff are quick to respond, advice from psychiatry has been so valuable, and resources from staff including counselors, handouts, and community support is so helpful to my patients.
Marin Katz, NP
VTCPAP has been such a valuable service to support me in the care I provide to children and teens. It's made a positive impact in my confidence around prescribing for this population and I've always found the referrals and educational materials to be spot-on and helpful. The clinicians who staff VTCPAP are warm, knowledgeable, responsive and really seem to care about the important work they are doing. I am very grateful to have access to this resource.
Jessica Stadtmauer, ND
The VTCPAP program has helped me to do a much better job taking care of my patients with complex mental health needs. I always come away with some new ideas or strategies to try. They listen carefully, they ask great questions...
They have helped me use questionnaires more effectively to monitor patients... I always get a call back the same day, at a time when I can spare the time to talk.
